Book Description:

Squanto, Friend of the Pilgrims is a living book written for young readers telling the story of Squanto from his time of captivity to the end of his life with the Pilgrims. This captivating story starts when he was a young boy playing in the woods to when he first met the white man and invited to travel back to their land. The story tells of his time in London, then his capture into slavery. After being rescued by Catholic priests, he was finally able to make his way back home to America only to find all his people had died from disease. He became an integral part of the Pilgrim community, teaching them about how to survive in the new world and being a translator with the Native tribes with his ability to speak English.
